Four faults in one trip!
Four problems in one journey. I had washed the wheels and when I went to start the car the parkbrake fault message came on. So I switched the engine off waited for the lights to go out and it re-started fine.
On the return journey I felt a thump and the gearbox fault message came up and then the parkbrake message as well, then an indicator failed and then the car would lock itself with the remote control.
Each of the above have cropped up a couple of times in the 6 months I have had the car. I have had the gearbox checked and it appears to be fine. But that diagnostic found warning messages for the turbo boost solenoid and a voltage problem. So had the car checked at a local garge and they could not find any issues.
The car runs fine all the problems appear to be electrical and these warning lights. I did have the ECU refurbished when I bought the car as it was showing an airbag warning light.
I am now going to stump up the cash and brave a Jaguar dealer. But any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Such varied things.... bad battery? Bad ground (or live)? (Loose cable, same thing.)
I suspect a network wiring fault might cause big trouble - one of those should show U codes to the dealer or even entire modules with no comms.

Thanks for that. It is now booked into the Jag dealers in Glasgow. They say it likely to be electrical so want to do another diagnostic and start fault tracing. So that will be £167 to start.
I told them that when I bought the car (from a franchised dealer, but not a Jag one) that the ECU was refurbished by Jag as there was a warning light constantly showing. Funny, but the dealers say they have them new and would never get them refurbished.
My previous biggest ever bill was for my Volvo when it broke down on holiday and needed a new brake caliper, £230. I suspect this is going to be more.
Fingers crossed.

Try a volvo forum... plenty of bigger bills mentioned
Just depends on whether you're lucky or unlucky.
But.... as more and more crazily-priced (meaning: unjustifiably) modules and components are added, the price ranges are going to widen, as they already are doing. There will be a consumer reaction, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. The makers figure we're stoopid.

Well I am now the proud owner of a new battery as the last one was gubbed. It was surprising it still started the car. So I have cancelled the Jag dealer and fingers crossed.
I should not have procrastinated and had the battery seen to the first time it was suggested.
Thanks.
