Hi guys.
I have been around awhile but in the x-type. Anyone know if the hood, front bumper and the grill with the headlamps are all the same from 99 to 2008? I have a 2003 end year.

I'm kinda a new guy here but I'm thinking there was a face lift in 03?

 

Lots changed.


Check the parts places, e.g. SNG Barratt

 

The 2003 (better 2002.5) facelift was an "internal" one - 4.2 l instead of 4.0 l V8, dashboard etc.

The bumpers changed in 2004.

VIN up to N13088 = old style, higher = new style.
No different part numbers concerning the headlamps and bonnet though, while the bonnet HINGES changed at N13088/N13089, the LH one also at N06252/N06253.

It´s complicated...

on uk cars, front bumper, bonnet and grill are interchangeable up to 2004, pre face lift
at around 2004 they changed the bonnet to aluminium, which is interchangeable on earlier cars, but bonnet has to be changed with grill and bonnet hinges, as ally bonnet has a different shape grill
headlights are the same from 2002 to 2008, but halogen and hid are not interchangeable without heavy wiring mods

For the Dr's listed location, in PA....US-Market cars are likely his interest/source of parts. THerefore, MY99 thru 2004 are what will fit. Sometime between 99 2000 and 2003, Jaguar changed the windscreen washer hose routing in relation to the bonnet. You can use a bonnet from earlier, but you'll need to match up the hose routing.....oh! memory fading back slowly...there is an under-bonnet stiffening rib in the early cars, near the front, that I had to trim away to fit it to the 2003. (I replaced the bonnet on my 2003 with one from a 2000 several years ago)
