General Maintenances and some Specific Repairs on my 05 S type
I have 99 K miles on my 05 ST 4.2 L with Nav . I bought it 2007 with 25K miles on it . Did not have owners manual with it. It was maintaned by local Jag dealer for 25K and 50K service interval ( free) ...the dealer is no more. Nearest is about 3 hours away.
Besides regular oil/filter (used Bosch filters ) replaced at 3 - 4 K miles using non synthetic oil and on 2nd set of tires with me.
70% highway miles and non aggressive driving style.
The following general maintenance has been done by me in the last 75K miles to the vehicle which still runs great ..
1. Changed to K & N air filter @ 40K miles ..cleaned every 10-12 K miles.( $35 parts)
2. Fuel filter replaced @ 97K miles $10 ( Parts )
3. Serpentine Belt replaced @ 97K miles $35 ( Parts)
Repairs ( by Ind Shop)
4. Front Brake Pads replaced @ 70K ..$110 part and labor
5. Expansion tank replaced due to leaking/cracked connector @80K.. $ 180 part & labor
6. Replaced Front Wheel hub /bearings @90 K $ 230
7. DCCV replaced and RCCM repaired at @ 98 K..( had to
)..means the Engine coolant was changed also. ( $520 parts and labor)
I am considering the following now eventhough the car runs fine !
8. Spark plugs replace.....still originals ( any brand suggestions)
9. Trans Fluid /Pan filter replace ( sealed for life right !!).Will go with ZF Life Gd 6 if needed...I am don't fix which ain't broke type person ...so should I go forward with this one anyway?
Anything else I should put on my list ...plan to keep it for a while.
Thanks

I hope you found the handbooks from the forum stickies
I think the rather sketchy service schedule is there, too.
OE plugs are iridium and good for 100K (don't sweat if slightly more). Probably were Denso but could be NGK, I think they used both. Be careful getting them out as they've had a while to semi-weld in! Check for anything in the plug wells (debris, oil, whatever). I think there are threads to change them - certainly are for the STR and it's essentially the same process. JTIS probably has more if you want more.

Sounds like a great car that has had most of the typically-required service tasks properly completed. I agree on using NGK iridium spark plugs when you decide to change them. And if you drop your ZF pan to change your ATF, be sure to change the electrical connector sleeve as well. The factory sleeves have been the source of numerous ATF leaks over the years, so that is time and money well spent whenever you drop your ZF pan....
That's an awful lot of perfectly good oil and filters you're throwing away. I'd consult the factory schedule and go with that for maintenance.
