One of my rear door locks wasn't unlocking when I purchased my 2004 Jag S Type which wasn't too annoying because I rarely use the backseat. However recently my passenger side door lock also stopped working. Although I hear the motor running in both doors.

Because of universal locking this is causing a bit of havoc with the passenger door not working. If all doors are locked and I open my dirverside car door it will immediately lock all doors. If the passenger door is unlocked it will cause all doors to unlock right after i lock the drivers door.

My question is I have seen a few generic door lock actuator kits out there for the Jaguar. Has anyone been able to use a generic (as in not OEM part replacement) door lock kit for their jag with success? I've been working with a stero shop that does alarms and custom installs do you think its possible they could do the job? (back in the day most radio/alarm shops that did custom work knew how to add power locks to cars)

Now I have never heard of a generic actuator for the S Types, I am going out on a limb and say that if there were it would not be compatible with our vehicles locking system.


Just a word of advise buy new and not used, I learned the hard way!
