Default Getting my STR back after 4 months

Hello everyone. I haven't been logging in much since my '05 STR has been in the shop. Well, I'm getting my baby back after 4 months in the mechanic's shop. I was rear-ended in October and, after fighting with the insurance company and many delays, she's finally coming home. My question to you guys is, What should I look for after my car has been in the shop for such a long time? To my knowledge, she hasn't been driven and probaby has not even been started. I want to make sure I take every precaution to make sure she's as pristine as she once was. She has 78k miles on her, but, with the exception of the "lurch" (transmisson), which most of us have, she ran exceptionally well. I would really appreciate any and all insight. Thanks guys!!!

Suspect the battery - could be nearly or actually dead

If it went even fairly flat even once, various learned values may have been lost. No biggie but drive it sanely for quite a while so it relearns sensible ones.

Hopefully it was moved around here and there during the 4 months, otherwise you may have flat spots on your tires...

Get it out on the highway as soon as you can. A nice, pleasant highway cruise is the best way to get all the parts properly moving again after sitting for so long....

Good luck and keep us posted on your impression of the repairs....

Hi Chris, Happy to hear yer cat will be once again on the prowl. My 03 has been in the shop for approx. three months to resolve exhaust and vaccume leaks. While there a small bus tried to shimmy between her and another car, giving her drivers rear 1/4 a minor rash. Got $1065 from the bus's insurance and one of my patients said it can be buffed out, so the dough went into the new home addition. When she comes home he'll paint the wheels and take care of all cosmetic issues while I help him with his health. A good barter-trade. The guys here pretty much summed up the reaquitance details. Be well.

Thanks. The mechanic did get me a new battery. I'm just a little leary after having my car sit for such a long time.

Thanks Jon89. I am planning a nice 4 day weekend cruise. Going to take like a 5 hour drive to the coast and let her "readjust". I'll be easy on her on the way there, but will probably test her prowness somewhat on the way back. Just to make sure my cat still has "claws" LOL.

Hi bfsgross, Good luck with yours as well. Do u have a timeframe as to when you'll be on the "prowl" again? Yeah, it stinks when someone does something stupid and puts a rash on your baby. Good deal with the home improvement dough.
