Exclamation Help! 2001 S-type tire spoiler?! Confused...

Hey there--
I have a question about my 2001 Jaguar S-type (4L)...I don't know how to upload the picture I took of it or the PDF file that I created with four separate images in the PDF (a lot smaller than the photos). If some kind soul can walk me though the process on how to upload a photo or PDF to this forum/message, I would be much obliged.

At any rate...basically, the part in question sits in FRONT of the rear tire (NOT behind the tire like most splash/mud guards) on both the right and the left. The one on the right rear is missing but is intact on the left (driver's side of the vehicle). I have attached a photo of the part, in place, on the left/driver's side (USA driver's side).

It looks like both of these attach to the frame and are held in place by U-type/shape clips...

The dealership is saying:

"Jaguar calls it a spoiler.
The part is $80.81 and would have to be ordered, turn-around time is 2-3 days. I have the clips in stock they are $2.52 each."

Is this really true?! A "tire spoiler?!" I thought the spoiler was the fin on the boot/trunk of the vehicle...

If not, could you someone:

1. Provided the part name and number?
2. Approximate cost for a replacement?

Please advise and thanks in advance for your assistance with this inquiry.

MDV,

First off you need to have a 10 post minimum before posting pics and other fun stuff or you can go to the "New Member Section" and introduce yourself and the Admin (JimC64) will grant you full access. This is done for spammer reasons!

Secondly just take the other off and save yourself some cash. The fronts are known to get curbed and rip off, very few of us have replaced them.

Thumbs up thanks for the new member guidance...

Intro just accomplished--thanks for the guidance on that issue.

Still would like the part name and number for the tire "spoiler" as I am one who is "dumb" enough to go out an replace it fort he rear tires...I understand about the front and that probably explains why the front tires never had them to begin with.

TIA

These "tyre spoilers" are there for two reasons. 1. They reduce air flow (drag) around the wheel arch & 2. They reduce noise.
