Help

Just bough a 2000 s-type 4.0L V8 with 60,000 miles what oil is best for me to use, first time owning a Jaguar Thanks.

My mechanic advises Jaguar-branded synthetic oil. Seems to work great.

Have you consulted your owner's manual? Are you asking about oil spec or recommended brand?

Any good 5w30 weight oil that meets current standards is the right one. No need for a “Jaguar branded oil” (there is no such thing as far as I am aware)…

I cannot see here on my mobile phone, where you are located - in case you wrote it on top... The oil is full synthetic 5W-30, if you are in a country, where it does not get overly hot, and it is full synthetic 5W-40 for me (I am in Australia)
