Default Hi..just bought a 2006 s type 3.0-- have a question

I used to have a 2004 s type..3.0..,well I bought a one owner last week 2006 with 80k....I noticed a burning plastic smell after driving a while....also...it sounds like a phone is ringing when I get in and out of the car.....I have a really extensive warranty....but what could cause these issues........I just love this car!

Any advice would be very great....thanks
Benjamin

Welcome to the forum Benjamin,

I've moved your question from Mid West US Region to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see.

In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

use the search function for that, its there.. i smelled that on a STR i test drove....seems that the possible issue is a failed O ring that allows some oil to drip onto manifold...the thread i read had pics .. looked like it was back on passenger side of engine compartment close to the firewall.. it was a 2-$5 easy DIY fix i think....

My bet is on a stuck park brake. Feel rear wheels after a drive - careful, they may be really hot.

Or - it is leaking IMT O-rings, Coach doesn't recognize the smell of burning oil, and it has an EPB failure to boot, but unrelated to the smell.
