High Idle
Hi,
Does anyone know if it's possible for the dealer to go into the ECU and adjust the in gear idle ? My 03 str is pulling a little hard in drive when I have the brakes on and when I take it out of gear the idle jumps up about 150 rpm before it goes back down to rest at about 650 rpm. does anyone else have this issue?
Thanks

RE: High Idle
There are no servicable parts on the E-throttle and it is sooo expensive, its not worth it to just guess. I am a Master tech for jag and porsche, so I always test and it doesnt hurt to have the right technical info at hand to diagnose, such as having the factory scan tool, wire diag, Tsbs LAb scope
ect. Id go to a good shop thats capable of diagnosing a Jaguar, since this is not a common car. Or go to your dealer and have the shop foreman diagnose the problem.

Thanks, I'll do that! I have brought it to their attention several times but no luck. I wouldn't mind so much if the car didn't want to pull so hard when I put it in drive and reverse and when I come to a stop. If I let off of the brake It will go up to 6 + mph right away and when I stop it shifts into first just as I'm about to stop and causes it to jerk forward. It really moves fast in reverse! Is it possible for them to simply adjust the in gear idle thru the ECU or the TCU? They tell me that there are no codes showing up but this didn't start happening until after ther did a hard reset of both.
