Jag jumps when changing gears
About a week ago my gas station was out of 93 octane, which i usually use in my 2003 s-type, so I put in an octane booster and filled up with 91 octane. about three days after my fill up, the car started lurching forward whenever the car changed gears. it also happens when i slow down and the car changes gears. Should I just let all the gas/octane booster run out before refilling or should i do something else to counteract this problem...HELP. The jerking of the jag is driving me crazy and giving me whiplash.

Well, I've let the fuel go to one mile left and put in 1/4 of a tank and still it jumps. I have an appointment at the dealer service tomorrow, lets see what they say. Its still under warrranty, so hopefully I wont have to prostitute my wife to pay for repairs.

Hey peeps,
Just got off the horn with the Jag Service department. At first they told me the CM had to be flashed, then they found a leak in the tranny. They've replaced all "broken" parts and the car is ready. Will be going to pick up this afternoon. Will let you all know how it drives.

Well, I got my baby back and actually I can still feel a little jumping. I had my 40K maintenance done and they say they found the oil pan gasket was leaking. Its nowhere near as bad as it was, and people who ride in it say they cant feel the hard shift but I can. The service department told me they had to flash the control module. They told me not to apply full throttle or place it in sport mode for at least 200 miles. We will see what happens.

I hope the problem isn't too expensive. But then, it seems like every repair/service on a Jag is expensive!

how much did you pay to have them flash the memory? Its like a pcm reset correct? I work for Honda a levelA technician. I was just curious. If it is I know some people at crown jaguar down the street from my work that could probably give me some info on this and i can share it with you peoples.

Hey peeps,
Its in for service again. I actually took it to a diffrent dealer and they say they flashed it with the new software and the same thing is still going on....its jerking me, not as bad as before mind you, but its bad enough. My son has a 99 mitsubishi galant that shifts smoothere than my jag. this is getting to be crazy. its still under warranty so they arent charging me, but I am tired of traveling over 50 miles to the nearedt dealer to get this problem rectified.
