Default How to adjust intermediate band on transmission

Hello,
I would like to know if anyone has found a way to accurately adjust the intermediate band on the 5R55N transmission while it is still installed in car? I was easily able to adjust the overdrive band but i cannot get my torque wrench in there to set the correct torque (then back off two turns). I just put the valve body back in and possibly could have not seated the intermediate clutch seal but i would rather verify this adjustment first.

Thanks, Jerry.

I'd suggest going over to Ford-land and starting to ask. There'll be much more experience there, with that transmission, than over here in Jag-land.

Only been here 7 years and I think I've never seen anyone ask or do it.

I went over to look at Ford posts and found one person suggested using a crows foot and another said that you have to remove the shift bracket/switch to get the extra space you need to get at the stud. It was mentioned that it will take an extra 15 minutes or so to do this. No way around it. That's the route i will take.

If you are going to use a crowsfoot. save the grief of trying to get the torque wrench in there as the crowsfoot will add leverage and make the torque wrench inaccurate. You might as well just tighten it by eye
