1999 S Type, How do you air bleed them? I only found one bleeder (middle of engine at front) NONE on expansion tank as that is at the back by the fire wall ..the water system is different, no oil cooler in the rad ,,so how do you bleed them?
From your multiple posts over in the so called "British" Jaguar Forum, you have reported that your radiator has a small leak, you have also asked if it is difficult to replace replace the unit.
If your current radiator is leaking, it will likely suck air through the break as the engine cools and you will never properly bleed all the air out of the cooling system. Do the replacement.

I Sussed it , when there is only one bleed on a 1999 S Type 3.0L... either
Make a large funnel fit and seal into the bleed plug (after you lever it upwards, and a cable tie to keep it from popping out) ,it needs to be like in the pics or fit what's in the other pic ..
Oh and run the engine with cap off the header and the heater in the open position ,when removing the funnel ,cap on and be quick, they self bleed anyway .. Knowing the water capacity and how much you put in helps..
Hi, thank you for the manual ,very interesting ..no 1999 procedure they all have bleeds on the header , i will pull that strange bleed plug out (again ) attach a funnel suspended from the bonnet and fill from there, and hope any air left self bleeds...fanx again for the info ...Si
You probably already know this, but do not mix coolant types and colours.
If you mix the original long-life coolant with green or blue coolant it can congeal into a gel in the system causing all sorts of coolant issues.
Hi, new rad, CVV and serpentine belt, all waiting for it to stop raining to refit .. i read one manual last night and it misses my 1999 out ,i have 5 ports on the CVV and no bleeder,i shall support a funnel from the bonnet and slowly fill from there, i think it will self bleed to some extent ..we will see i suppose ..thanks sir ....Si
