Hi,

The fore and aft motor for the drivers seat of my Jaguar S-type has jammed. The seat will not move backwards or forwards. I can hear the motor click when I activate it and all other seat adjustment motors are working fine.

I need to remove the seat to replace the motor, I can easily undo the front fixings but the rear ones are hidden by the seat. I need to manually move the seat forward to expose the fittings. Any ideas on how I can do this?

It is a late 2002 2.5SE auto

 

Mine is the earlier version so might be different. But try this: there could be two screws in the front connecting the seat to the moving mechanism. Unscrew these and carefully remove the rubber rings. Now push forward the seat. It will not move first but if you see what is blocking movement in the front you can free up the movement with a screwdriver as a lever.
