Default How to identify this hose?

Hello,
I sprung a coolant leak (2005 S-Type R S/C) and have been combing through the forum for information. I could not see the source until I pressurized the coolant expansion tank with the air intake parts removed (nope it wasn't the expansion tank nipples). Thanks to someone who posted a pic of a quick release air connector threaded directly into the expansion tank.

Turns out it appears to be a pin hole (well...large pin hole) in a hose. I had to remove the expansion tank to get to it...but before removing the hose I'd like to identify which one it is in order to purchase a replacement. The attached picture shows the top of the hose (where my leak is). The hose goes down and to the passenger side, although I haven't identified exactly where it ends.

In the attached diagram from JTIS I think it is the one highlighted in red.

How do I identify this hose so that I can look it up in JEPC?
I can't find it named anywhere in JTIS.

Thanks for any pointers.

I have exactly the same car and highly recommend you change all the hoses. Yes there are a bunch! You will going in multiple times if you don't. I have had 3 separate hoses get these small pin hole leaks.

As always the search function will bring a lot of good stuff up!!

And if you are not aware we do have a problem hose under the supercharger. I believe this is the last hose that I have NOT replaced. But I do have it in case it's needed.

I had a similar problem. I took the hose to the local autoparts stores and found a universal hose for a few bucks.

Thanks clubairth. I may replace more, but I need to get this one up and going for the moment.

I'm embarrassed...I found that thread but apparently didn't go to the second page.

I'm still stumped though...which one on that list do you think is the hose I highlighted in red? I may be doing something wrong with JEPC. When I try to search on those part numbers I get an error message "Cannot connect to internet" when I've got a perfect connection elsewhere. Also I've never seen any pictures on JEPC...how do you get diagrams?

Sorry for the newbie questions.

Thanks BlackKat.

I'm nervous about trying this.
The hose appears to have a sharp left turn in it.
Do you think a universal hose would make that turn without getting kinked?

Did you replace exactly this hose with a universal hose?

What is the general feeling around here about buying generic hose vs. buying a made to fit hose?

Cut the new hose to be a bit longer and route the loop a bit more loosely. I did exactly this with my power steering return hose which the oem had a 90° turn.
There are other simple cost effective solutions to this. Check the link below.

For the record, the hose I highlighted in red was part number XR841800 Heater Feed hose, although it goes by other names, too.

Not the easiest replacement, but this was my first engine compartment repair on this car and was a good learning experience.

Clubairth is probably right. I saw some bulging hoses in there that are going to go sooner or later. Probably sooner.

I was surprised that most of the hoses were reasonable in price too!

I think the inter-cooler hoses were too much but I got them anyway because this car has a lot of hoses and they ALL have to fit in a small area. So I made sure and used factory molded hoses. I certainly could have patched it together with duct tape but right now I can get the correct hoses so will save that type of repair for later if ever.

Watch out for the wire clip retainer on the top tank hose assembly. It's not real obvious if it's latched good or not. We have had at least one member not get it latched and the hose is so big if it pops off you lose so much coolant that you will burn the engine up, as he did!
