Hub bearing replacement lights on, help
I just replaced my front driver side hub/bearing unit. It has the ABS sensor on it. Everything runs great but now I have the ABS and Traction control lights on. I've driven it 100+ miles. I've attempted to reset using a OBD II scanner, no luck.
Those lights were not on before the hub/bearings replacement (those bearings were making a noise (loud) so I replaced them. I had a non-Jag dealer do the repair (I trust them and they've doen everything after the warranty expired that could be done outside of Jag). They check the sensor. Can the hub unit be bad? How can I reset these lights?
Thanx in advance.

I took to dealer, $115 later they said the sensor was either broke or not the corrcet one for my car. It was a new hub and it was aftermarket. Now I need to get a new sensor for my hub which looks to be another nightmare.
It could have been damaged during the hub replacement. You can swap sides and see if the error moves to that side (as indicated by a new and different ABS code)...if it does not, its wiring/harness or incorrect hub/sensor combo. just an idea to help diagnose.
Thanx, I've contacted the hub supplier, I have another in route. They confirmed thta this hub was correct for Stype 2000. More than likely the installation was screwed up.
I forgot the code but it was front left side Hub sensor (the side I replaced). And it's either a bad sensor on the hub or the dealer (Ford) when they installed over torqued it (it was supposed to be 221 ft/lb), but I won't know until this weekend and I receive the replacement hub. I told the dealer to not use a torque wrench but who knows what they did.

221 ft lbs. is INCORRECT
Proper torque for the wheel hub assembly should be 66ft. lbs. (90Nm)
I changed my right side in less than 20 minutes and I am not a professional mechanic.

the problem is there is only 1 side on the sensor that reads and is supposed to be indexed towards the abs reluctor ring on the hub. I had 2 last year come in for that after someone did a hub replacement and both were not installed correctly. there is an index slot and corresponding tab on the sensor. They can be put in incorrectly(obviously) but have to be forced instead of slipped in, and they should always have a thin coat of sealant on them since they can tend to let water in past the oring which runs the hub again. the index slot goes down(if I remember correctly) and the small round pickup on the sesnor goes towards the ring
