Default Best Way to Run Wires from Radio to trunk?

Hey Guys,

So so far in my audio upgrades, I've installed a Pioneer Avic D3 Nav / Dvd System, and upgraded the front speakers to MB Quart RSC 213 components.

Now I want to add amps to the system. I need to run 2 RCA cables, and a remote turn on wire, as well as speaker wire to all 4 doors.

Has anyone done this in a facelifted S-Type? What's the best route to take? I'm assuming that since the battery is on the passenger side of the trunk, that the big battery cable to the starter / alternator runs down that side, so I would be better off running down the driver's side.

Any tips or pics would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

George

The major harnesses etc are shown in JTIS - you must have got that by now!

You haven't said where you're putting the amps and how many? But, run the LH speaker cables down the left and the RH speaker cables down the right. Your terminology might be different but the wire harnesses tend to always run under the interior sill trim pieces. (rocker trim?)

Amps in trunk. 2 or 3 depending on final plans.

I just need to run RCA and remote turn on and speaker wires to the doors.
I popped up a sill plate, looks like the carpet is screwed or bolted down on the edges. I have to investigate further when I have time.

I was just wondering if someone that had done it before could spread some insight.

There is plenty of room on the passenger side under the sill and along the doors. If you search here I recently posted the install instructions for the Sirius radio accessory. That had me route the wires down the passenger side. There were no cables in the way and it was REAL easy to do. Look it up, it is a PDF so should be easy to save and/or print. Real helpful for the instructions on how to take stuff apart as well.

THANK YOU! I actually found the document on the Jag owner info site. That is exactly what I was looking for. I took a look at it and the only two things that seemed unclear are the fuse box cover, and the b pillar cover. Do they just clip in? Can you just pull them off?

Thanks in advance,

George

They both unclip. I didn't completely pull the b pillar trim off. I just popped it loose enough to get the wires behind it.
