Default I can't get out of this damned thing

I want the seat to not drop and roll backward when shutting the car off. Is there a way to do this? It's so far back and low, I can hardly get myself out of this damed thing. And the kids in the back seat are getting amputated in the process.

There's a switch below and to the left of the steering column that will turn it off.

Look on the fuse diagrams in your owners manual to see if this function is controlled by a standalone fuse that does nothing else. If in fact it is, then just pull the specified fuse and see if you achieve your desired results....

Edit: Never mind. Norri is familiar with this feature and has provided a much more appropriate solution....

I did it and it worked. I have to say, the label doesn't make this clear. It's similar to the mirror adjust, I always recenter the rocker switch after right side, left side.
This label leaves you with adjust pedal, adjust wheel, and then centered, auto. I hadn't realized leaving it forward or back would stop the drop and roll back. Thank you for your help.

Personally, I like having the extra room when I enter or exit the seat. There's another option if you'd like to keep that, but skip the part where you shorten the children's appendages. On my '02, the seat doesn't drive back until I remove the key from the ignition. If I have a passenger behind me, I just wait a few seconds for them to get out before removing the key. It's the best of both worlds.

It does roll back if you open the driver's door with the key still in the ignition. I noticed this yesterday in a car hand wash where I was in the car with the key in so I could listen to the radio and when they opened the door to clean the door jambs, the seat moved back, when they closed it, I moved forward again! Like you I enjoy having the extra room to enter or exit though.
