I found my coolant leak below the plastic thermostat housing
I found my coolant leak. It is below the plastic thermostat housing and just above the water pump. I think it is housing. I have heard they crack, but could it be leaking from the top of the pump?
I did find that it was bubbling in the area that I found, but I do remember when I dropped the plastic under the the engine (I unscrewed it from the front and left the other mounting hardware toward the back of the engine) it seemed to be poring out somewhere around the back of the engine and running down the plastic under tray on the passenger side.
I'm confused....

If your leak is coming from the rear of the engine - odds are your expansion tank is leaking from the nipple. (If this is confirmed - replace the expansion tank with OES tank - not aftermarket as you asked in another post)
It is an 2003 S-type sport with the 4.2L non "R"
I can hear it bubbling from the area I had mentioned before but it is dripping out on the passenger side behind the passenger front tire. I figure that is because of the under tray, but then again my car is missing the front plastic that goes under the radiator. I'm thinking that it might be leaking out from the thermostat housing still and just running down behind the water pump and front of the engine toward the rear of the block.
It only starts to leak after the car has gotten real hot as if the thermostat is opening and letting water flow. Then again I'm no professional.

If you are still trying to find out exactly where the leak is, you can rent a leak tester from auto zone for "free" ie you put down a deposit then when you bring the tester back you get your full deposit back.
