Default Idle Problem

Hi all, My S Type 3lt auto 2000 stalls if i leave it in idle for to0 long and it also stalls when i find myself in heavy traffic. The rev counter shows that it sinks in spirts and when ive the revs up you can here a slight interupt and see it from the exhaust. I think air must be getting in but would appriciate any ideas?

Pull codes. Check air intake for leaks. See FAQ, See Forum rules, Post intro thread, Add info in sig, what do you see from the exhaust, what color?

Theres no change in colour just a 1 secound interupt, it does idle but you can see it drop slowly on the rev counter untill car starts to rock a litlle due to low revs, then it stalls

How does it run when you are accelerating or cruising? If it's smooth the I'd agree with you that you prop have a vacuum leek. You should be able to track that down. If it's rough then I'd say start by checking plugs and coils, or you have water somewhere it's not supposed to be. It could be as simple as lose connection too.

You have no SES or CEL? (check engine or other warning lamps) Go get the OBDII codes pulled and post them on here.

The car runs great, no delays in acceleration or loss of power and cruises smoothly.
Overall its a tidy and smooth car with just that little problem, ill be stripping and cleaning it myself so i know my way around it, hopefully ill come accross or solv the problem. Just though id bounce my question off you all to get a better idea of routines for Jags.
Thanks for the info

Probably air leak. Most likely the hose elbow. See FAQs and the many threads. Not too scary and is DIY
