Ignition off, no a/c available
When I started my 2003 S Type R, I got a message on my screen, "ignition off. no a/c available." The car starts fine but the electric parking brake is engaged, and no accessories function. This has occurred 2 or 3 times within the past five years or so. But in the past, simply restarting the car would correct the problem.

I have since determined that I have a good deal of water in the deep well of my truck. Carpet area is not wet nor the surrounding side areas. So signs of damage or bad seals but water just the same. I have removed the water and will leave the truck open so the associated wiring in the rear truck area can dry.

The water in the trunk sounds like a good place to start.
The two classic places the water gets in is where there is a body seam along the side and where the seal goes onto the plastic of the rear lights.
The water collects in these two areas and will find its way over the metal lip under the seal.
The cure is to lift the rubber seal, clean the grove in the seal and the lip then add some silicone sealant to the lip and then pit the rubber seal back..
Also check the seals around the rear lights.
Water can also collect unseen under the battery when stationary. Then when you drive the car it will then come out making it look like it has leaked more than it has!
There is also a known issue with the wiring loom behind the front bumper on pre 05MY cars. This can chafe and eventually ware through causing all sorts of strange and seemingly unrelated electrical faults as the wires end up conected to the metal car body and other wires.
(As the electrics are mostly switched earths the fuses may not blow it just causses strange faults.)
The 05MY update sorted this out.
