Angry Immobiliser - only one key programmed

I've got a serious issue with my 2004 S-Type 2.5L. I bought it on an auction with one key only. I tried to add a new key but she did not accept the copied key. As a result now there is only one key programmed and won't even crank. It seems that the immobiliser won't allow me to start the car with only one key programmed. Is that right? Could someone help me how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance
BTW: I'm using JRL SDD 130

When doing keys you first will delete ALL keys. Yes that's scary!
You don't want to copy or clone a key either. This is what most lock smiths do but the car still only has 1 key.

Since you have SDD. Start again and have at least 2 new keys in the car as there are time limits when you need to insert the new key and remove it. Follow the SDD instructions to the letter. If it won't crank I don't think that key is properly programmed either?

Can you check for any codes? As always with junk auction cars there is no telling what was wrong with the car when it was dumped at auction. You might have a series of problems?

Thanks for the response. Does that mean that I have to purchase a second key from Jaguar or I can use any key with the same chip?
The car has probably some issues with the fuel pump too but first it has to crank. I'm pretty confident, that I can fix almost anything but had never an issue like this.

I use after market keys because of the cost. I have had great luck with them but also some problems.
I spent about 3 days trying to program a key that turned out to be missing the transponder "chip" or sensor.
Missing Transponder in new after market key.

That lead to me research how these things work.
Attached is a detailed document on Tibbe keys.
Start with that.

Using legacy IDS (I think you said 2004 MY car) - you will need to program in the transponder and the transmitter for each key as separate activities. I now have two fobs and one valet key. I only had one fob and then got a a valet key left by a mobile locksmith who gave up on my car. I made a video demonstrating the steps using a key fob ordered-up from AliExpress. Hope this helps.

@ BigCat: Where can I get the required computer-software for my computer (which you use) and how do I connect the computer to the Jag?

@ habesz: Did the one key, which you received, ever work (to let the jag crank), or did it only stop being able to crank after you tried to add another key?

@ clubairth: I will try again to try your routine regarding adding remotes (with the flash stalk), but I am fairly sure that I tried that before in vain: My S-Types are 2004 and 2005. They seem to be different from pre-2004 S-Types in these regards. I drove to a locksmith, who made it in the end - succeeding doing the remote programming on a 2004 and a 2005 S-Type, but it took him very long, and he was not happy about that. The solution the last time around was, that he had to "tell" his super-computer, that my S-Type is a US-S-Type, even though that is not true, His boss told him, that he is not allowed to do the remotes on the another S-Type, because it takes too long - the problem is: I have one more 2004 S-Type now...
And you wrote, that it possible to program 8 Keys into a Jag - I think, it is just 4 - which is why I never tried more and I have 4 keys for each of my Jags, not ever using the original keys, so that I cannot loose the ORIGINAL keys, which I need to easily copy the transponder myself. The latest addition S-Type came with only one key. That is a problem. I will probably have the transponder cloned. and for the remotes: I hope, the boss of the lock-smith, who can do it, forgets over time that he does not want him to work on any more S-Types...

The key-in / key-out method to program more transponders, IF you have both original keys, worked for my X-Types and my S-Types. I did that a while ago.

You have gotten great advice already, so I don't have nothing to add (other than I too buy auction Jaguars and now currently have 3 and I use a TopDon T-Ninja Pro but SDD will work also).

Just wanted to add this site here as they are who I use exclusively for everything in this realm. I have nothing against AliExpress and get some things from there but for things like this I go to a trusted authority.

https://tools4car.co.uk/product/jlrcable/ (scroll down once pafe is rendered as there might be a transient issue with headers on their website) for the v131 and cable
https://www.britishdiagnostics.co.uk...s-sdd-v130-kit for version 130 and cable as an alternative

Thanks.
