I think I need to get to the spark plugs and coils on the passenger side of my '02 3.0L S-type. As I understand it, I need to first remove the intake manifold.

My local Ford Dealer parts guy does not seem to know that the 3.0L engine in the Lincoln LS and the 3.0L S-type are the same engine (they are, right?).

Will the gaskets, o-rings, etc for the Lincoln LS w/ 3.0L engine of the same year work on the S-type?

What about coils from the LS if I need those?

More seems to be said about the commonality of S & LS than is actually true - beware

In this case, I doubt they are the same but I'm interested to know for sure.

 

Why risk it? The Jaguar (6) UPPER intake and (2) IMT O-Rings are less than $60.00.

 

Not at my local dealership they tried to charge me $130.00.

I agree, although they indeed share some common parts like the intake manifold gasket, most of the parts are of different setups which are totally incompatible to other models.
