I am swapping out one interior for another on the same model of S type.. only problem is the colour codes.. ok no big deal as it appears I will have to just remove the upper parts of the door cards in the front and the centre concil and glove box etc... lower bits..


any advice... all the seats are being swapped out as well.. thats the reason for it... thanks.

Don't really understand what you're asking mate? If you have a donor car surely you just take everything removable out of that and put it in your car the same way it came out?

 

Get a bunch of zip-loc baggies and a digital camera. Take a bag and tag it for each component, then place all the clips and fasteners into the bag. Take many pictures of each thing you take apart, including before pictures. This will help you remember all the little things you will forget when you go to put it back together...

Also, take your time... don't force things.. plastic likes to break....

 

sorry I wasnt clear, I was asking.. are there any hidden bolts, nuts clips I should be aware of.

last night I only had the chance to remove the drivers door panel and fix the central locking on the donor car.. so I havnt done anything more than that. but with seats, the under belly of the dash, the rear shelf etc.. are there anything I need to be aware of when removing them.

I know with nissan (300zx) and my porche 911 everything was hidden.. you think you were able to remove bits then found that there was a torx head or screw you missed.

Everything requires some force.. take that door panel for instance. First door I ever and I mean EVER worked on that had 2 screws only!!!! plus the rest just easy plastic clips...

 

There's good advice from someone else who has done a long term restoration in the past!

Thanks Graham I didnt even think of looking at my JTIS.... was also looking for any tips.... or tricks... you only learn so much from these things dont you.... and advice is sometimes priceless.
