Default iO Play 2 fitted - sounds Great but no radio and have to enter code each time...

The iPod really does sound bloody marvellous with the Pioneer TS-A6885Rs I fitted a couple of weeks back.

But I'm wondering if the Autoleads SOT-082 lead might be a little iffy.

Without the lead connected, everything works as it should - radio auto tunes, nav, CD all work fine.

With the lead connected I get power to the nav and the climate control, but have to enter the code each time and the radio and CD don't work - can't tune the radio at all.

So I'm wondering if maybe the part of the SOT-082 that connects to the aerial might not work? Or maybe there is another connection for the radio memory?

What are your thoughts guys?

Turns out the first Autoleads adapter harness I bought has been badly repaired!

The culprit...

The second one I bought...

...a slight difference! Got a refund from eBay instantly which was a novelty.

And here it is, in full working glory...

I really LOVE this thing.

Sound quality is fantastic, build quality is top notch, and really straightforward to fit - when you don't buy a dodgy lead!

Probably the best £130 I've ever spent on a gadget.

Nice setup. May I ask what is the black button between park brake and cup holder? Haven't seen that before.

BTW - your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car. lol

That's the iPod controller.

Right side of the car for a Jag

(ok, at least Jaguar was British once!)

Oh how we miss the good old days, right? BTW - interior looks fantastic. How does that button control the iPod and where is the iPod located? Inside console?

Can you explain the setup in more detail? It appears that the products are from UK companies. Where does the Autoleads harness connect? Does the bluetooth mute the radio when a call comes in? From what I've read the iO Play uses its own amp to power the speakers, is this correct? This seems like a good alternative for people who have nav and want bluetooth and ipod control. Thanks.

You unplug the nav unit, plug the Autoleads harness in to the back of it, and then plug the original cable from the car into the harness. Then the iO Play plugs into the harness. It has got a 180w amp built in, so sounds damn good through the upgraded speakers I fitted. And yep, it mutes when you receive a call
