Not to be critical, but I call BS.
J Nothelle Motors GmbH
Dr. Detlev-Karsten-Rohwedder Strasse 9
D-47228, Duisburg
GE
No engine shots, no videos (from 2009), and just some ugly wheels/body kit with the German address make me call BS. Still thanks for posting! And we all know a new blower would not JUST 80bhp.

IIRC J. Nothelle is a tuner shop along the lines of Arden, Hamann, Mansory, Loder1899, Project Kahn, etc. You know, a lot of "custom" (expensive), "bespoke" (very expensive), & "exclusive" (very very expensive) parts. They probably only customized a few Jaguars to show what they could do. If you're willing to throw money at them...

They achieved the 480 hp (up from 395):
- Full exhuast sysem + sports cats
- ECU Tune,
- upgraded intercooler
- last but not least a twin-screw from Lysholm (good ones, but the current KB units are better).
The price was just 19.495 euros (without VAT), but that included a full 3 year warranty on cars younger then 2 years.

Twin Screw???
Wow I bought my steering wheel off that guy in Slovenija, his name is Gregor.
That would bolt straight on to an XJR wouldn't it...hmmm...
But the photo of the engine looks like a stocker, and he mentioned only 426 BHP.
Which suggests to me a pulley and the exhaust was about it.
Very interesting though...

- full exhuast system, including sport cats
- engine tune
But this increase sounds about right with the above mods.

J Nothelle
Thanks, jag79 - I never before heard of J Nothelle, so did a little research. Here's some of the stuff I found...
The Nothelle family has a racing heritage that spans more than 35 years. Jens Nothelle Jr. has been racing since 1988 in everything from karts to Formula 3 to endurance racing to the Porsche Carrera Cup.
Four years ago J Nothelle started tuning production cars. They are exclusive to Jaguar, and all pieces are designed and manufactured in Germany. The cornerstone of the company is its respect of the Jaguar for what it is; in other words, their modifications must never change the car into something other than a Jaguar.
The Jaguar S-Type R you see is primarily a body kit. And why not? An S-Type R is already really fast, with 390 bhp and 399 lb.-ft. of torque erupting from its supercharged 4.2-liter V-8. So J Nothelle's goal was more about making it distinctive and aggressive-looking. They achieved that.
At the front of the car is a very racy-looking — and functional — air dam (with a new lower grille) that conveniently incorporates the stock foglights, while also providing air intakes for the oil cooler and front brakes. The side skirt kit blends perfectly with the new front air dam and matches the new rear apron.
The sporty look is enhanced further by J Nothelle Exedra II alloy wheels, 19 x 8 1/2 front and 19 x 9 1/2 rear, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport tires, 245/35 front and 275/30 rear. These are the same width as the stock tires, just with lower aspect ratios. Besides the bigger wheels, J Nothelle adds a set of springs that lowers the car by one inch, matched with a set of firmer shock absorbers.
When you fire up the J Nothelle Jag, you immediately know something's not normal; this cat has some snarl! That's courtesy of a stainless-steel sport exhaust that the boys at CEC claim makes an extra 10 bhp. For sure it sounds better and provides another benefit as well — you notice less of the supercharger's whine.
At the test track, the J Nothelle S-Type R was actually a tenth of a second slower to 60 mph than stock (5.3), with the quarter mile also a tenth off, at 13.8. Bigger wheels mean more weight, as does the extra body cladding. Besides, 10 bhp isn't going to have a huge effect on a 4000-plus-lb. car. If you want a real power increase, J Nothelle offers a 500-bhp supercharger upgrade.
On Buttonwillow's twists and turns, the stiffer springs and shocks were a welcome addition. The car felt more in tune with the track, with roll, dive and squat all reduced. It definitely felt more planted through the corners. And that rumbly exhaust sounded great.
Of course, J Nothelle doesn't leave the interior untouched. Everything from an aluminum shift knob and pedals, backlit doorsill plates and wood trim finished in a rich black lacquer accomplish the task of distinguishing this car from "run-of-the-mill" S-Type Rs.
So, for over $5000, Nothelle made the car prettier and sound better, but go no faster. But the bit I like is the 500-bhp supercharger upgrade. Avos, is that a twin-screw?
