i just purchased a 2002 s type engine 4.0 V-8 engine that was listed as a s type sport does any one know what the difference is ?? Hoping no difference in engine and wiring when i get it delivered ,can someone explain what the difference is ?? thx

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the difference is whether or not it comes V6 or V8. That's only based off of the fact that when I got my 03 there was a 3.0 V6 and a 4.2 V8 version. I'm not really to sure about it though.

 

There is no difference. Bolt 'er in.

 

I believe the "sport pachage" was aminly a handling/apperance package with the C.A.T.S. system as the main component of the package.

 

Plus you got the 10 spoke 17s and heated mirrors in some places. The packages varied across the planet.

 

I read the sport package also pushed the speed limiter up to 150 mph. Probably not the case with the North American version. Everything else should be the same besides what has already been mentioned in the prior post.

TheUnited Statesversion of the 4.0 sport has the 150 mph speedo.

 

Doh...I meant to write..we have the 160 mph speedo on the 4.0 S type Sport models.
