Default Jaguar S-Type

I have a 2001 Jaguar S-Type 4.0L v8 haven't had it long. Had the air compressor replaced the other day and when I got it back the bass is not as loud. The stock speakers are pretty decent sounding and now it's like there is no bass at all bass setting hasn't changed.

Welcome.

The S Type, tech section will have the answers for your missing Bass.

I cannot see the connection with the a/c copressor, but, stranger things have happened.

As you've posted a separate Intro thread, I've moved this one from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to S-Type forum for advice from members with the same model.

Two options for 1st generation S-types. Standard audio, and "Premium sound." Look at your head unit, and if Premium Sound, you have a subwoofer with external amp (with possibly a dedicated fuse). May be that simple...just a fuse. Do the head unit's controls work/adjust? Are there any miscellaneous codes?

What compressor?

Make sure to replace the timing chain tensioners (and related parts) so as to avoid engine destruction.

Another preliminary question....during most service, the battery is disconnected. Audio wise, your stations, time and settings reset. Did you press the Bass button, and increment the volume control, which would increase it, displaying + 1 and up?

Probably something simple.
