Hello
I need help with Wiring for tow bar on Jaguar S-Type. I know some of you don't like tow bars on S-Types but I'm not really gonna tow anything but I need the Tow Bar.

From what i know the S-Type needs a bypass relay for its wiring but is there a specific relay and what does it have to be? i have found some cheaper ones with a universal cable kit to it but i don't know if it will work,

so my biggest questions are, what does the s-type have to use to wire the tow bar? is there a specific relay or wiring needed for it? and what will it have to do?

(anything on this is helpful)
Thanks In advance!

Can't help with the specifics, but take a look at the wiring diagrams here:

JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

Open the 1999 wiring diagram, and scroll down to figure 08.3. Looks a little more complicated than I expected, with a power relay and a special control module. The relay may not be anything special, but the module may be tough to find.

I think you are going to need the interface module. These were only fitted with the optional tow bar kit that was fitted at the factory or as a later dealer fit.
So if your car had a tow bar from new or had one fitted by jaguar you will have this module.
If not then good luck finding one!!
I think that the part number is C2C1149.
But I may be wrong. Others may known more.
