Default Jaguar S-type abnormal behaviour after service...

Hi All,
I have a Jaguar S-type make 2000. I have had this vehicle for approx 3 years now. I had taken my car to an authorized service station for a 100,000 kms service(Spark Plugs etc). The car was washed afterward. I drove the car for approx 3-5 kms before it started to act weird. On the panel it started to display messages like Low brake fluid, Drivers door open(while in motion), I stopped the car on road side. Switched off the ignition, to my surprise the head lights started to flash,my power windows started to come down on its own, passenger side and driver side seats started to move up and down and forward and back, then the steering started to move on its own(While the car was still in switched off mode), during this time the security alarm also went off. Can someone kindly shed some light as to what would have happened. After approx 2 hours , i switched on the car and drove it for 20 kms without any further incident.
I am bit worried , is this kind of a signal before i encounter a big problem.
Thanks,
Dips

Sounds like a job for Ghostbusters ...

I've heard about stories like this from other high end car owners and they're quite humorous. Long after the incident is over. This sounds downright dangerous.

I know one guy whose car put all the windows down in a driving rain storm and they wouldn't go back up. That was a Mercedes. You're in good company.

Maybe a hard reset? Someone on here should be able to find a procedure for your particular model.

Sounds like a nasty case of wet electrics and/or failing battery (flattened by them?).

Or chafed wires / poor power/ground - harder to diagnose so hope for the above.

That happened to me once! It was starting to rain pretty hard on the highway, so I tried to put the windows up. Instead, all my windows triggered to go down and I couldn't put them back up until they finished going all the way down. The driver window still does this on occasion when I try to close it it'll just go down instead. Or if I turn the car off before the window closes fully, it'll reverse direction and go back down.

Did they wash the engine bay? Sounds like wet electrics to me.

Did any water leak into the trunk area?? I understand that it's a (fairly) common problem with early models which can cause electrical (ghost) problems. Also check your battery, it sounds as though it's going bad.

Thanks Guys for the inputs.
Yes , i confirmed with the jaguar Service Dealer, they did wash the Engine. Seems it was causing the electrical circuit to go beserk. I have driven the car for approx 1000 kms after the incident, it hasn't given me any sort of problems.

Have many happy trouble free safe driving
