Jaguar S-Type V6 Supercharged ?
Hi,
I know this must have been covered , but I couldn't find it. I have a Jag S-Type '02 model with a V6 engine. I have got the lower control arms, front suspension links and my rear sway bar links replaced. I'm also getting my suspension struts and springs replaced with the Bilstein B6 HD's and H&R "lowering" springs. This should improve the handling.
But, at 210 HP and for its weight, this car is grossly underpowered. I was thinking about getting an Eaton M90 or M112 supercharger blower and pulleys. Considering the M112 was used in supercharging the V8 s, would that mate with the V6 engine manifold ? Can I use an "adaptor" for the intake manifold ? Has anyone ever tried this ? Selling this car and getting an S-type R isn't an option for me !

Unfortunately for a car that old (02-03 ) R-type there might be issues on top of the sale price ! This is a car that I have already had it checked out by the dealer and had the maintenance done with ... quite a bit actually ! Besides , I'm not looking for a big boost..anything around 300+ to 350HP and I'm a happy man ! Thanks tho !
I doubt there is an adapter for the V6 engine to get a supercharger on there. Might be worthwhile looking into getting a turbo on there, if that's possible. Perhaps a good shop could figure it out. Perhaps get it up to 280-300 with a turbo.
The thing with turbos is the complexity of installing , the heat . Besides, I'll be using this on the street not the track. So, higher throttle at near redline RPM's doesn't make much much sense to me. A roots or twin screw type supercharger would give significant boost even at low or normal driving rpm's !

Not half as complicated or expensive as installing a supercharger.

Nope ! Just looking for options ! I would've swapped out for an STR but for the thought of possible maintenance on another old used car after spending quite a bit on my current S-Type ! Besides, I would rather get a coupe or convertible XR/XKR down the line ! Just getting thoughts on this from other senior members here ! A turbo wouldn't give boost until higher RPM's which doesn't do much for daily driving !

There are no off the shelf kits, the cost of fabricating and installing one-off hardware to adapt a supercharger would probably exceed the value of the entire vehicle and you'd still end up with less power than a non-R V8.

What they are telling you is it will be cheaper to dump your old 6 cylinder and buy an STR. You will spend thousands of dollars and you will still have the older more troublesome S Type.
You want to avoid the 2000-2002 cars regardless of condition. It's really worth the money to get the updated S Type. Jaguar truly did a massive upgrade even though the car still looked almost the same.

I now drive a 2005 S-type R. However having previously owned a 2003 S-type V8 (non R) I think you would be very happy with its performance and the price point and maintenance is lower than the R. Consider a 2003+ V8 model.

Don't even think about it! You will have a load of never-ending trouble, frustration and expense.
For a gain of 20-30 HP, some simple changes might be possible. For a gain of 100-150 HP, get an STR.
