Default JTIS problem loading on MS win 7 64 bit, missfire

Hello,

Let me introduce myself. I'm John new owner of a 2001 S-Type with 29K miles. The car is in perfect condition so far as I can tell. I have joined to learn this car and to maintain it myself. I have printed and followed the Jim Lombardi posts on uploading the JTIS service manual however am getting errors upon trying to use JTIS. Questions:

1. The link in the PDF for the DA350.dll for Win7 was 64 bit not 32 bit. Doesnt the program require 32 bit. I loaded the 64 bit DAO which was in the link. Do I need to re-do this?

2. Main purpose to get the JTIS up and running is to change the timing "plastic" tensioners before they break.

3. Best place to buy the camshaft "lock" tool sets for changing the tensioners?

4. Has a slight miss at idle. Sounds like the water leaking into the plugs issue I have read about. Any specific info. on where to seal the windscreen areas? I have read about it but have not read where to specifically seal the leaking areas.

5. Below are some screen shots of my JTIS set up? Is this still used by Jaguar owners or is there another simple solution to get the manuals?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The JTIS is 32 bit and will not run on a 64 bit machine without a bit of work. I run it on my Win 7 Ulitimate 64 bit install. I had to install the free MS download "Virtual Machine.

Download Windows Virtual PC from Official Microsoft Download Center

After the vitrual machine was installed. I opened it up and then installed the JTIS from that desktop.

Default JTIS solved! Win 7 64 bit DAO 32 bit issue.

Hello,

I utilized Jim Lombardi's DAO file fix to correct the DAO 32 bit thingy. It worked! Thanks Jim I really appreciate all the work you did previously to set up the archives. I was able to figure it out. As I did the original DAO it did not seem right. Your DAO fix corrected it for me.

Tbird6 thanks for the suggestion that was my next direction, however I solved Jim's process for my machine.

Thanks again,

John B

Glad to hear you got it sorted, my setup is 64bit also and works fine.

So your next stop will be the new members area for an intro?
