Original key stopped working, so bought a new transponder online, dealer/ mechanic tried to code it to car & a 2nd remote i bought from him.. neither would code to car. Ideas please???

 

Prior posts reference both a 2000 and a 2006 S-type. Can you let us know what version of the car you are inquiring about? Many of us here (not me) are tech savvy, but not "psychic"...

 

The only way to add a new key fob to a later s-type that is 05 model year (built in 2004) or newer is to use the jaguar SDD software. As far as i know the latest version that is in use in the jaguar dealers now will not work with the s-type, I think the last version that worked dates from 2014!

But we do need to know the details of your car to help you.

Also looking for front mud flaps for same car.any suggestions please??

 

They are still available from jaguar part number is XR8 28879.

Ask at your local jaguar dealer using the part number or do a google search. (You may find them cheaper at the dealers!!)
Please note that the front mud flaps can not be fitted on the STR model.

The rear ones are XR8 28885.

It's the supercharged 4.2, not relevant to you.

 

An 'STR' is the well known abreviation for the S-Type R.
As mentioned above the supercharged 4.2 V8 S-type.
