H20boy, how are the LEDS lights holding up? I bought some leds for the headlights and in less than 6 monthstwo have blown out. As you know, you have to remove your headlights to gain access to the bulbs, which IMHO is not worth it. Im done with leds in the headlights. Leds are cool but its the having to replace them so frequently is for the birds. Atleast its easy to gain acess to the tailights bulbs...

Not a single problem with mine momo. Of course, I never put any in the headlights. Too much of a PITA...and i liked the small halogen next to the HID, gives it contrast. lol I check them about once a month to see if there are any problems, so far, no burnouts or other issues. Sorry to hear you are having problems, which ones did you use? gimme a link, let me check the specs. i can't beleive the leds would burn out...i know depending on the wattage, some LEDs will dim to stay cool. I only have mine in the turns and brakes, not the markers or the tail lamps, so long term use hasn't been really tested like those in the headlights. Anyway, show me what you got and where, and i'll see if I can make sense of your problem.

Just reading the package the bulbs came in from superbright it say ( do not install in headlight housing, heat will cause LED fail and VOID WARRANTY ).
Maybe this is why your burning out bulbs.

The site is superbrightleds.com
The bulb is WLED_WHP 194/168 wedge base
Pure White-High Output LED Polarized

As far as the turns and brake lights go, I went with something different then h20boy, he already knows the bulbs. Didn't get them yet. Will let you guys know how they work.

I will also be using a 20 ohm -10watts resistorsinstead of the 6 ohm reisitor that h20boy is using.

Oilman, glad the superbright LED is working out for you. Notice how it has a slight purple tint to it instead of the blue? I really like mine.

Let us know if the 20ohm resistors work out, ok, it should produce less heat, which would have been nice to know when I did my project.

haroung, link on Pg 3 of this thread if you need it.

Your so rightabout the plate bulbs. Without allyour input on this subject I would have never started this. I remember when youfirst started with the LEDs very well. You started me into it.
I know you spent alot of money to get this far in bulbs. You did get my e-mailon the bulbs Iam using. Just waiting for them to arrive. Will let you know how they work. Well its one set you don't have to buy. Iam hoping that 3 watt in the center dose the trick.
h20boy
Don't you remember, Thermo talked about 20 ohm- 10 watts made sense to me, yes not as hot.
Regards Gene

Single large LED bulbs.. I put mine on a switch for whenever I would rather not have my plate seen..
DO NOT USE THEM IN THE HEADLIGHT as parking lights. (burnt out 4 LEDs in 2 weeks when I tried that)

ordered from V-LEDs 2 Amber 60 M-SMT turn bulbs7507. They come with the off sets on the bottom. The off-set bulb base is Bau15s.These bulbs should light the reflectorup for sure. Surenot cheap, like you said. So there is no problems installing them. Also 2 6 ohm 50 watt resistors.
regards

3 dollars for led license plate lights is fair enough, saw one for 80 dollars which is insane. just remember to put a switch on it.

Huh???????? What are you talking about? LED license plate lights just plug in. Got 'em myself. Take out screws on cover. Plug in bulb. Put cover back on. That's it.
