Hi to all

However EML light has appeared on dash, vehicle runs fine.
My question is does anyone know where i can get it read in the Leeds West Yorks area , without getting ripped off.
Vehicle is 3.o se model 2001 64000 miles FSH dark blue with beige leather.
Thank you to all.

Almost anyone with an OBD tool should be able to get the basic codes. Or hang on and buy an elm327 (ebay as low as £11.50). Try to resist clearing the codes - first post them here and see who has what ideas

Does he use/know OBD? Also, he's got the redesigned car unlike the OP.

I think Jim was thinking of a recommendation in the Leeds area rather than Leedsman doing the job.

OK - the OP now looks also to have asked on the .co.uk site (probably a more obvious place!) and got answers there.

I'd think there will be more Loiners there.

I never knew people from leeds were called Loiners so the thread has been educational for me.

Now I have to find a way to use my new knowledge.

Default loiners

Natives of Leeds are known as Loiners and there are several theories as to the origin of the term but nobody can be certain where the word comes from.
There are three competing theories.
- Loiner could derive from the name Leodis (in use by the eighth century for the district around modern-day Leeds).
- Another explanation says that in the 19th century there were many yards and closes around Briggate whose back entrances were known as Low Ins or Loins, hence Loiner.
- Yet a third theory is that there were a number of lanes in the Briggate area pronounced loins in the local accent. People who gathered in these loins to gossip were therefore called Loiners
