Which one would be the better fit for my Ebony (Black) S-Type?

 

I actually have that 2nd one. The one that says "Jaguar", and to be honest, I would NEVER buy another black frame off of Ebay. I should have learned better from my other vehicles. They fade HORRIBLY, I'd say within 6 months or so.

I would stick with chrome, but almost any one you buy off Ebay is going to get some rust spots on it that you need to wipe down.

I would spend the extra money and get a high quality one from the dealer or another source, but whatever you do STAY AWAY from those black ones on Ebay. I've been through 3 of them!

 

I actually have the dealer's logo frame. I know, I know...Lots of people hate those...Buuuuut... I like my dealer and it has been through two nasty Ohio winters without even a slight sign of pitting..and even if it did, I'm sure the dealer would give me another one for free.....So, maybe ask your dealer...

Outside of that, the ones sold through the dealer parts department are not that expensive and look to be of high quality. Just like the ebay stuff stay away from the "Advance" and "Autozone" cheap stuff as well...

I just ordered two Jaguar Logo frames (c2a1175) from Nalley Jaguar around $20 each.

 

Do you have any pics of them? Went on their site cant find any.

I wanted to get the black pearl, but it was little too expensive. :P ($20.36 vs $36.64).

 

Nice, I like those. I think you made the right choice on spending a little extra and buying quality ones. Those black pearls are nice, can't believe they are 16 bucks more though!

I know. I can't believe that the black pearls is that much more!!! Oh well, it's going to be much better than the one from eBay. I will post pictures when I get them sometime next week.

 

All of those are illegal here in Toronto, a friend of mine was pulled over by an ******* cop who gave her a ticket because the sentence at the bottom of the license plate was covered, it said something like 'ontario'.

Driving a jaguar you can expect even more of those type of people to pull you over, better to not give them a chance to give you a ticket.

 

I see. I have other license frame that covered the insurance period before. I never had any trouble with it. They bothered me with tinted front windows tho.

 

Not illegal in Massachusetts. It covers half of the bottom sentence on the plate, "The Spirit of America". As long as the state can be read, numbers and inspection sticker you are good to go. I worry more about getting pulled over because of my tint than anything else, even though the percentages are supposedly legal. Looks darker with a black vehicle.

 

Logo frames are obviously popular but - for me - the logos that came on the car are enough logos.

I use plain frames from Subaru (dealer parts department). Stainless steel in black or polished (chrome) with thin borders all around so nothing gets covered up. And at Subaru prices, not Jaguar prices.

 

How much was it? I'm actually looking for one set (plain frame) for my Mazda6.

 

If I remember right they were about $20 each. I found similar ones elsewhere for less but not in stainless so I went with the Subaru parts.

 

So basically exactly what the Jaguar one's cost?

 

Not here. The dealers in this area sell the Jag frames at $40 and up!

 

I installed the new license frame. It looks pretty good on the front, but the back isn't soo nice (stupid insurance stickers). Since my jag is all black (without any chrome trims), the black license frame looks pretty good.
