Default A little help with coils please

Are either of these suitable replacements or are either OEM? They are listed as 2 term and 4 term. Does that mean terminals?

Yes. I "think" the STR uses the 4 terminal ones. Sorry I don't know where to look to be sure. I keep all my old parts but at 97K miles I am still running all the original coils and plugs. So I can't check the coil connection.

Planning to change the plugs soon.

Man those seem too cheap?? Have you looked at Rock Auto?

You obviously need the four pin. Funny though, that a seller offers completely different parts for the same engine. One hell of a database they must have. Based on shape I think only the one marked genuine is the right one provided you actually get the same product. The Jag part no. you should look for is AJ810445.

4-blade. AJ8 10445 (may now be superseded).

I believe OE is Denso. (Mine say MADE IN JAPAN.)

The online parts places are a mess for alternatives. Some show UF519 as 4 or 2 blades. I've seen 6R83 12A366 AA as the long # (and it's on mine). Pass whether it's right.

Even JEPC is a bit confusing.

I'm sure there'll be a Ford part. TBird? Whatever has the same engine.

I looked at Rock Auto and theirs are just as cheap and then they have different gaps!

The Denso's are .044 and the rest are .040.

I know JagV8 says he thinks the Denso's are OEM but the Denso's dopn't make a reference to OE or OEM like the Bosch and Champion.

I ordered a compete set of "high performance" dragonfire coils on ebay listed for s type and they looked the same as the 3 similar ones you attatched. I don't know what engine those are supposed to be for but they don't even come close to fitting the s type r (03 at least). The s type r is a 4 pin coil and thoes are 2 pin. Not to mention the bottom portion is too short, top part is too tall, and the retainer bolt is on the wrong side. I've gotten 2 of the standard 4 prong ones and had no problem so far but have only had them for a year so...

Diamondrmp you are mentioning gaps? Are you talking plugs now and not coils?

Never seen any gap with coils?

ROTFLMAO!!! I was looking at plugs too and just posted without asking the question regarding the correct gap for plugs.

Has anyone used the coils I have pictured? JagV8 where did you find the best price for the Denso's?
