Loss of Power (2000) ?
I got 2000 S Type and the power is tottaly gone. You have to drive in Sports mode just so you can pick up speed okay. I did a quick search and saw a review with somebody mentioning the same problem. Anybody here cam across that or knows what the possible problem could be?

I know this is a stupid question, but are you sure it's not related? The car isn't still throwing any codes is it? What exactly is the car doing? Has this been on on-going thing that's gotten worse or did it happen all of a sudden? I know there's nothing like answering a question with a bunch of questions, but it could be a lot of things...

I'm not the primary drive on the car so i dont know some of the specifics. There are no warning lights or any kind of warnings right now. Basically it lascks power, picking up speed very slowly.
Maybe someone can tell me what is the 0 to 60m/100km hr time for 3.0 L 2000 S Type. With automatic transmission with sports mode on and without. I want to see if i'm anywhere close to what it should be doing.

1) __Slight loss of power at slow speeds when cold (no lights or codes)
2) __More loss of power at higher speeds when cold (no lights or codes)
3) __Skipping, almost as if transmission issue (cold or hot).(no lights or codes)
4) __Worse skipping and increase in hesitation (cold or hot) (no lights or codes)
5) __Almost constant hesitation (no lights or codes)
6) __Almost complete loss of power (FINALLY got an engine light/code for coils)
(about 3 weeks of issues before I got a code.)
Not sure if this helps, but there it is.

RE: Loss of Power (2000) ?
After a couple of days of driving it, I think i know what the problem is. When in D it does not rev high enough. It feels like it changes gears too soon.
If driving as it would be standard using 2-3-4 then it speeds up very nicely. Even when using cruise control, slowing down and then using resume to get back to the set speed it speeds up well. In D though it rarely goes above 3,000 rpms.
Anybody with simlar problem? Must be something wrong with D and the way it changes gears.
Have not had a chance to test 0 to 60 yet, should do it this sunday.
I want to do the following tests:
0-60 in D
0-60 in D and S mode on
0-60 manual
0-60 manul S mode on
