Lost JTIS
I have re-posted this from my i930 scanner thread as this isn't related to the scanner
Hi;
I upgraded my windows from 7 to 10 last July time and having just had a need to check out a Jag code I find that I have lost JTIS from my computer Not sure when this occurred but when I try to bring it up I get "invalid path" box.
JagV8 suspects the upgrade being the reason!
Any thoughts on above from computer literate readers would be welcome as I am lost and regretting the upgrade.
Thanks

JTIS will not run as-is under Windows 10 so trying to fix the broken link (a desktop icon?) is not of much use.
I've tried following the work around scheme generously written by Jim L. but that failed also.

I have only got the JTIS to work on win7 and above by running it in a virtual machine.
If you don't want to fool around with all that there are PDF manuals on EBay for not much money.
Might be simpler to just get another disc is PDF format?

I've had Some success with it on Win10. And some failures. Haven't yet worked out if it is the day of the week? the weather? Or possibly how I hold my tongue that determines whether or not it will work. Then again, neither have I resolved that same dilemma for when/why Windows arbitrarily rearranges all my desktop icons from time to time!
I used Jim's workaround.

Win 10 still includes a copy of the IE11 browser in addition to the
default Edge browser.
Right click on the JTIS shortcut, view properties and see where it
points in terms of a path.
See if that path indeed exists.
If not, fix it first.
Then it may be necessary to specifically run it under IE11 rather
than Edge.
IE11 will need the same permissions that were set in the browser
when it was working under Win7.
Or go for the PDF. It's easier to read and navigate anyways.

Thanks for the responses, I have sent for an "e-bay" CD so before I start again downloading JTIS I will check out this CD.
Plums, I am not using edge in win 10 still on google (if that's what you were referring) and I am struggling to determine the file path. I spent some time with Jim Lombardi's help for the original install on my win 7 home edition before finally getting there.
The sticky posted refers to JTIS install on win "7" or "XP" so could there be a conflict with this install info on win 10
Thanks again.
