Default lost of memory seat power..

I didn't really lose power. What really happens is when the car is turned off the seats no longer automatically go back? Has this happened to any one else? I can still manually move the seats via the controls...

Momo,
Take a look at the knob just to the left of the steering wheel, there are two settings, Auto and Off. Off means that the seat and steering wheel no longer move when you insert or remove the key.

I have a similar problem where i guess my mem. dosent work or i just dont understand how it should work. on my old mercedes and my BMW if i set my seat to a position and pushed mem, the seat would return to that position if moved. My 03 STR will re adjust vertically but not forward or back or re set the stearing wheel position. granted im the only one who drives my car but if valet or car wash moves the seat it bothers me that i have to manually re set the forward/back it after i push my mem button.

If the switch that Mark mentioned is off neither the seat nor the wheel will move, worth a look?

YOURE RIGHT YOU DONT KNOW HOW ITS WORKS, THE MEMORY BUTTON IS TO SET MEMORY, IF YOU WANT TO RETURN TO A SETTING, HIT THAT BUTTON #1, #2 ETC. OR PROGRAM YOUR REMOTE TO YOUR POSITION, THAT WAY IF SOMEONE MOVES IT, IT WILL GO BACK TO YOUR SETTING WHEN YOU UNLOCK THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE

come on really????? I know how to set the position in memory. the problem im experiencing is a lack of recall when i do push my pre-set button. on multiple occasions I have adjusted my seat position then "set" memory #1 moved my seat up,down,forward,back...ect then push #1 again and it dosent return to where i had just set it. And quit typing in caps thats just obnoxious

FYI... The seats will not move to a preset position while in drive. You need to be in park or the engine is off.

Another tidbit: You can have your keyfob preset to a seat memory so when you unlock the Jag, it automatically moves your seat. This works great if you and your significant other each has a keyfob.
