Default Lowering springs for STR

I know that H&R makes lowering springs for the STR however have anyone used it and how is the ride with the stock dampers? Is the ride quite bouncy after install with the stock CAT shocks? would the H&R be the best option or the Mina? thx

I have H&R's on my 03 STR. They are not too hard or bouncy and work well with the stock (CAT) struts. They lower her 1 1/4" and are level. The words out that the Mina Gallerie springs bring her down the same but leave her front elevated.

Don't even think about it if your going with 20's as your other thread suggests.

Mine is lowered on H&R Springs....love them! Handles like the car should from the factory, tigher and more sport like.....and the ride comfort really did not suffer at all.....and it just looks badass!

Hello Riski,

Yes she indeed looks great! Would you happen to know if 20" would rub with those lowering springs? thx

I htink w/ 20" wheels you will be fine and clear if the off set is correct.....there still is a slight gap as you see.....and you will lose tire wall height and the ride will be a lil rougher with less of a sidewall to take the bumps

You better roll the fenders too. Anytime you hit a bump I am sure it would rub.

...I have those H&R springs on my STR with 20's and no they don't rub at all, it sits perfectly. Whatever Riski said previously about the H&R Springs performance, I second that!

Hello Jag79,

Would you be able to share your wheel widths and offsets along with tire sizes?

Thanks!

The tires are Front 245/35/20 Rear 275/30/20 Pirelli Nero low profile "Z" rated front and back, the wheels are Euroline Work, and the H&R measurements are F1.4 and R1.3 I believe. I have no clue what the dimensions of the wheels are, just know they are 20's. I bought this STR "AS IS" with the H&R springs on them. All I did was a complete exhaust overhaul. Magnaflows from CATS all the way back to the 4" exhaust tips I put on, minus the Resonators and added in a X-pipe. To those who say 20's with H&R springs that don't work..........the key is to make sure you have the right size tires on.

Peace.

Wow. the standard rears are 275/35/18 so yours are 2" more diameter. I'm amazed they're OK.

Even 275/30/20 are 1" bigger.

Update* I checked this morning the tire sizes. My bad the rear are 275/30/20 not 275/35/20. Thanks for giving me the heads up on that JagV8
