Default Mafioso's thread!

So the castrol tranny flushed/filled 5000 miles later is great!

Did the Mina Gallery lower grille
Dyno'ed the car today here are the numbers
non corrected 317.8whp 341.9 lb/ tq 29.58 in-hg oat 92 degrees humidity 7% lambda 1.03

I chose non corrected numbers so it's easier to compare best pull was in 4th using a dynojet 5

Was too much heat, humidity, and low atmospheric pressure to develop full horsepower. Do a pull on a chilled day with clear skies and you should wring 340+ hp out of her.

That's about 19% drive train / heat loss in power... not too bad for a hot day. That's assuming the common loss of power from the drive train is 15-17% and the car makes 390hp at the crank (03). Please correct me if I figured this out wrong. Can't wait to see your after results!

Lol it's Texas! I would have picked a better day but I booked that appt almost a month ago not too bad of numbers considering they are not corrected and it's pretty warm out

Car sat for 1 hr after an hour drive coolant temp was 212 AIT 130 with fans

Man that's hot (212 F.). I wished you had a low temperature (185 F.) thermostat at the time to see if this would have made a difference. I run a full exhaust mod, 1.5 pulley, and low temperature thermostat. The under hood temperature dropped noticeably, likely due to a free-er flowing exhaust: exiting exhaust gases face less restriction thus less friction= less heat and more complete combustion chamber scavenging= +power. The low temperature thermostat was the icing on the cake. Even on hot days the blowers charge coolers are only slightly warm to the touch.

Right I'm not new to the boosted world the key is that this was a BONE STOCK base line.

Next on the list are the cats and resonator on stock piping and stock mufflers then back to the dyno for numbers

jagv8, I'm not kidding i.e the charge coolers don't become hot. If you can direct me through a IAT2 monitor, I'd be interested.

I think I'd burn (scald?) my hand. Figured about the same temp. as the coolant passing through them.

You'll need an OBD tool. It's a non-generic OBD item but even an elm327 can read it if you know how to ask it. Some OBD software can be taught custom things, so if you have some non-free stuff have a look whether it's like that.

(IAT2 is on the STR, similar to IAT but after the air's boosted and cooled.)

Made a bunch of pulls on the dyno and we broke the car I think.

full stock best pull was 349whp 376ft-lb
with intake elbow 362/382 ft-lb

I overtemped the cats on the 11th pull hp dropped 299 and the AFR was 8.9.

So I think some time this week its off the muffler shop to have the cats changed, x-pipe done. to cure the cat over temp.

Plus now after the day of playing on the dyno I did notice its running like my cats are cooked.

little bit of a rough idle and its running like its fell on its face.
here are the new meows:

Question

Im getting ready to do this in my car (delete the Cats), but using 45 degree strait pipes instead. BTW your 30hp gain on the dyno was from the use of your intake only?

Thanks,
JG
