Default Mass Airflow wire harness

It looks like the wire harness for the MAF has hit the radiator brace at one time or something else has gotten ahold of it. I haven't had any MAF CELs but I did noticed the bare wire. I did wrap it in electrical tape for now to keep it free from the weather, but is this a common issue? I'm guess no as I could not find anything about it. I would just repair the wire, but it is so close to the plug that I do not want to go about cutting and soldering this close to the plug. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement harness? I can't seem to find one if I went that route. Thanks.

Not common. A wrecker probably has a good harness.

The usual approach the PCM takes is fairly sane. For example, it may stay open loop but use values that are harmless. It may leave one or more of the OBD monitors unset (which may inhibit codes). Etc. If you want to know the details, work through the workshop manual. (I'd just fix or replace the harness LOL. Oh, OK, not true - I'd work through the OBD stuff but I'm unusual that way.)

It's good that you found a likely cause
