I have a 2002 S-Type Jaguar. I just got the JTIS from the "C" man on here. It looks like A GREAT DIYservice help.

But howdo I know the difference between the 2002 model and the 2002.5 model? How do I know which I have? Is there a cut-off day moving from one to the other is there another determination?

Also, I am new to the Jag world... longtime dreamer... (in a nightmare right now, but hopefully it will be better soon) But what is an STR??? I assume the "ST" stands for "S-Type". If correct, what does the "R" stand for?

The up-to 2002 model has the extra Jaguar badge (or a pouncer) on the bonnet as well as the grill; the 2002.5 got rid of the extra bonnet badge/pouncer.
Interior was upgraded and the dashboard looks a lot nicer and far more modern in the 2002.5.

(There was other changes made but these are the obvious ones).

Yes; STR stands for S-Type R (introduced in 2002.5) which is "the daddy"; it has a 4.2 litre Supercharged V8 producing 400bhp, it's de-chromed, dark grey wood inside, has lots of toys, awesome suspension, massive brakes, beefy wheels and a boot spoiler - it's a beast!

 

So does that mean that mine is a 2002 or an 2002.50? See pic...

The hood orniment is the "pouncer"???
