Default Modification advice/feedback required

Gents,
I have had my STR for a few months now and the modification bugs are biting now. I want to start low key so I am thinking off a pulley, K&N filter and a remap.

I would love to hear from people who have carried out similar mods and their feedback.

Would the increase in bhp be noticeable?

Thanks

Greenbat

Forget the remap, no one has been able to prove it works. Pulley, k&n, and exhaust are your best bets. Remember when you do a mod to reset the ECU, as it needs to learn the new mods and it makes a huge difference.

Default Hit the nail on the head

Hi Greenbat. Mike is right-on. Drop in a K&N air filter, remove wide-open throttle solenoid activated baffle at bottom of lower portion of air box (one scew), "Mafioso" air intake elbow, low temp. thermostat, 3 lb. pulley, 50 state legal hi-flo cats, x-pipe, toss the stock resonator for a pair of Magnaflow 4" muffs, dumping out of a pair of Borla's. Reset the ECU (disconnect and touch both battery terminals together for 10 minutes then reconnect). Drive her for 300 miles in "Normal" trans. mode then drive her hard in "Sport" mode.

I can't wait to redyno mine. There is a serious feel diffrence and now that the water inj is in heat soak dosnt seam to be as bad. I need to hook the gauge to the IAT2 and get some readings.

May have enough time to finish the nitrous this weekend, maybe. I would love to get it in and work the jets up and get some numbers with the new mods.
Since my last dyno I have added the 3" elbow, 3# pulley, low temp stat, new SC belt, modded the air box, water inj pre blower (haven't done the post setup yet) redone the X pipe with longer tubes, and have the Nitrous install about 50% done. Have a guage coming in so I can monitor IAT1, IAT2, Boost and knock on the dyno.

I have the ecu, most of my killer chiller parts I think LOL and hope to have a spare blower next week to go ahead and get out to my guy for a rebuild and port. Working on a elec water pump as well and a alum under drive alternator pulley.

I ran a bud in a modded M5 the other day and it has me in the mood to get this thing up and running soon!

So you are one of the guys that bought a killer chiller? I reached out to them to see about getting one and he said that he has sold 4 Jag kits. Let me know what your thoughts are on it.

qwikcat did ya make your own "Chiller" or buy a kit? Did ya notice a loss of power over time while driving in the heat? As ya noticed, the 3 lb pulley will give ya a noticeable difference in low end grunt...the downer is the intercooler circuit heats up pretty fast in temps over 70 degrees (with the 3 lb pulley). I need a "Chiller" and a rebuild/port/polish! Where did ya get the "Chiller"?

Hey Seth, I just threw the 3LB pulley on and am loving the improved boost response. The car goes to full boost much quicker now. Mid range imrproved.

I am using a Killer chiller (company) core and a few parts. I didn't know they had a JAG kit? Of course I could never get trough on the phone to them myself its always busy. If they have a kit I would love to talk to them about it.

Yea building the chiller. Its a pretty simple system the core is the main sourced part. I have to get time to recover the freon install the kit and go recharge it at some point. I always notice a loss of power in the heat even stock. The pulley just soaks it faster with no steeps to cool it off.
I can tell a big difference with the mods. The car use to plant from a stop now it just blows the tires off in 1st and even gets tail happy in the top of 2nd. The elbow just sounds cool to!

Ya I didn't get too detailed on asking them about what was included with the kit but here is an email I did receive from them:

There have been 4 kits sold. We haven't actively advertised this kit,
because most Jag owners don't care about heat soak.

The install is easy, and there are written instructions with the kit. The kit cost for the Jaguar is $650.00

Awesome Chris. Was I correct about the 3 lb grunt? Mike, thanks for the info. on where to obtain the "Chiller Killer". qwikcat, in addition to a dyno; do ya have a track near ya to test out the combo with/without alky injection and chiller? Plus did you do hi-flow cats, x-pipe, 2.5 pipe, etc.?
