Multiple problems!
2005 Jaguar S-type R 62,000 miles. Only modification is a Caldoofy intake tube bought from a member of the forum. The tube has been on the car for at least 6 months now. Besides that its completely stock.
So about a month ago I had my EGR valve replaced due to a small leak. Computer was reset and check engine light diapered. Then about a week ago it reappeared and the air intake sensor was replaced, again check engine light was reset and all was good. Then yesterday while driving home the check engine light went back on, another light also lit up and the info panel under the speedometer said "Performance restricted" I was close to home and the car was running absolutely smooth, no noise, temperature was fine. So i drove it home and parked it. This morning when i started her up it went haywire on me. Info panel showed, Park brake fault, engine system fault, check engine light on as well as another light on the panel was on. It also showed cruise control unavailable. I turned off the car, did some research on what could be the cause of all this. Went back out to the car just to turn it on and see what would happen and behold! All the different faults where gone, took the car out for a quick spin and it ran absolutely smooth, no noise, gears shifting perfectly, smooth acceleration. The check engine light is still on but everything else is gone! So my question is, what the hell could possibly be going on? has anyone run into this before?

Hate to sound like a broken record but thats just about exactly what happens with a battery on the way out...
If your is still the original, don't bother with a test, just replace it.
Cheers,
Doug

Replaced the battery yesterday, reset the comp to get the check engine light to go off. Drove it home and so far everything is back to normal. Thanks for the tip guys, seems like that old battery was causing all kinds of codes to go off. On a side note, I could have sworn my windows would open and close by just pressing down on the button once, but now it only opens that way, to close it I have to hold the button down till it closes completely. weird.
Replacing the battery likely reset the window programming. I'm not 100% sure of the procedure (probably in the owner's manual) but I believe you just need to roll the windows up all the way, then hold the up button down fully for a few seconds and they should reprogram and the one-touch feature should function again.
