My dsc would not work and I had the dealership look at it. They explained to me that there are two main sensors that work together, mine being faulty in the steering wheel he said. And the sensors are not cheap. I've gone without dsc for two years, no big deal.

It's called the steering wheel angle sensor. It may or may not be part of your problem. Other potential problems can originate from the brake fluid level, vacuum system, wheel speed sensor fitment, wheel speed sensor air gap, wheel speed sensor reluctor rings, yaw rate / lateral accelerometer sensor cluster fitment, connectors and pins, harnesses, ABS / DSC module, and various fuses. You need all of the proper diagnostic tools to be able to efficiently chase all these potential failure points down. The vast majority of us do not have all of the necessary diagnostic tools. That's why my 2005 S-Type is booked into my trusted indie shop next Wednesday. I've been chasing a DSC / ABS failure since January 8th and I have not been able to find it and fix it myself....
