Default Mystery "chirp"

When driving home last week I noticed a "chirp". Research has found that it occurs only when I'm driving uphill and turn to the left. This takes place at about 25mph. In fact I can duplicate the noise only some of the time. However, I can duplicate it always at this one spot on the way home.

Any ideas?

Eric

Rear or front of the car? Either way, chirps usually come from brakes or bushings. Sometimes a pad hangs up and touches the rotor and sometimes the dust shield rubs against the rotor. Or it could be any one of the numerous suspension bushings. If it were me I would get under the car and start spraying all of the bushings with WD40 and see if that solves it.. Then if it's still there, pull the wheels off and check the pads and shields. Eric

Before using WD40 I'd look closely at everything that might plausibly rub, hoping to see a shiny area to confirm it was indeed something rubbing.

Sadly, failing to see such a rub mark doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

OH yeah by the way *don't use the WD40 on the brakes* also it is only a temporary solution for the bushings.. It just helps to narrow down the problem.

We're fairly certain the chirp is in the front (90%) and the right front (75%) at that.

I'll try to look under the car this w/e.

Thanks.

Eric
