just bought a 2005 jaguar s type r supercharged v8 90k miles navigation screen was working the day I bought it now it is just black and will not turn on so my radio and ac/heat will not work not sure where or how to start diagnosing the problem

 

If you're lucky it has just lost its firmware - which would need reloading from an appropriate disc (any 2005-on, I think). There's a thread about it - maybe in General tech or X-Type forum?

If unlucky you'll need a new drive (which has the firmware).

Maybe start by removing & cleaning disc / power off / etc.

 

do you know which disc I will need or should I just buy the dvd reader from ebay

 

how did you get it to work again?
