I can't speak for al the other years, but my 2005 STR I was told has Brembo. If you read previous posts, I believe that stopped in 2006 or 2007.
The measuremments you give seem off. STR front discs are 300mm. But I'm speaking OEM, you can't find the pads very easily and the discs are all backordered. Or get them from a dealer for $400+. I went with the Euro parts supplier for Jag, and that link was for my 2005 only. I'm sure you can match for the 2003. I had 300mm Brembo replacements discs ordered twice to find out they didn't have them and they were backordered. Seems like Jaguar STR parts can be harder to get (OE, or OE comparable). The issue was never measurement, it was getting the parts.

And I went with vented becuase they had them in stock at a decent price. So not a matter of "look cool". And dust would be more of a pad issue. I'm worried about vented becuase of the noise some can make at high speeds.

And JITS was used, but isn't that helpful. I had to use my VIN to track down parts.

I guess I'll see when they get here and I put them all on. Maybe saving a buck might payoff this time. I've heard good things about the pads.

300mm front disc for STR with Brembo sounds way off.

Here's a Brembo front caliper so you know if that's what you have

I'd listen to what JagV8 is saying about the dimensions. He's one 6 people on the planet who knows how to work the JTIS documentation so I'm sure he found it in there.

I was refering to the dimpled options on the rotors. The fronts are ventilated by design. Strangely the rears are not. Dimples "look" like cross drilling but I can't fathom what they actually do except cause trouble. For non track usage I'd get plain as they're the least likely to cause brake issues like excessive pad wear or deposition of pad material on the rotors. Most drivers don't need slots or cross drilled holes.

And we ARE trying to help ...

I'm not disagreeing but we're all saying the same thing. You added a picture of the caliper, I have pads for that and mine also is Brembo, as I was saying (2005 STR). I think the discussion moved to, was the disc/rotor to spec. Brembo makes a 300mm disc for this STR car as replacement (tried to get, on backorder). The Brembo pads are harder to find and expensive, and there are MANY other mfg's that make caliper pads that fit, hence the AKE Bono's. The discs however could go from 326mm to 300mm. I believe 300mm by 30mm is factory. I also noticed a difference between UK STR's and US. I do know I have matching Jag spec's discs coming so I'll measure just to see. And my pads are also Brembo spec'd, these are spec'd stating "2005 STR brembo".

My discs are coming from Eurospare, and as I was saying they apparently are "it" in Europe, and special in Jag replacement parts. Thats as why I used my VIN to match the parts. I have JITS to 2004 and other than the procedure, I don't see part numbers, etc. I'm sure I'm missing something.

When I get them next week, I already have the pads, I'll update.

Here is my understanding per JTIS upto 2004

For the front
2.5, 3L, 4.2L (US & Cand) = 300mm x 30mm max, 28mm min worn)
2.5, 3L, 4.2L with sport susp + 4.2 ROW = 320 mm x 30 mm max, 28 mm worn)
STR with Brembo caliper 365 mm x 32 mm max, 28.4 mm worn

For the back
All expect Brembo - 288 mm x 20 mm max, 18.5 mm worn
Brembo - 330 mm x 15 mm max, 13 mm worn

Its my understanding that 2005 used the same system. Brembo makes a bunch of aftermarket rotors for a bunch of different cars so its not surprising that brembo makes a 300 mm rotor. Brembo makes the 365mm rotor in an OEM capacity but does not sell a OEM rotor (I tried this as the 1st possible alternative source). If your rotor is 300 mm with the Brembo caliper in the photo, it may be worth visiting the Jag dealer to see if the 2004 and 2005 parts for an STR have the same part #, if so, you may have the wrong rotor on the car.

Generally, cross drilled help vents the gas for better performance but can crack, dimple tries to get the same functionality for less cost and more reliablity. For most street applications ... it just looks cool!

Where are you getting this information? It contradicts every thread I've read on here as well as the JTIS info. If you're correct it should be very interesting.

I'm not clear whether your talking about front or rear here but if you change the diameter of the rotor very much (326=>300???) it's probably not going to work with the calipers on the car.

I am pulling the wheels off of mine in the next week or so for pads and rim touch-ups so I'll measure the rotors and post it here. I have a 2005 STR.

I don't believe the disc (rotor) size changed between UK & USA.

It appears to be the same for 2004 in this official Jaguar brochure. I'll see if I have a 2005 and/or 2006 one.

OK, here are the 2005MY specs. Still Brembo and the sizes I said.

hmm, best I have for 2006MY is this rather longer brochure but it gives the brake disc sizes
It's in inches (oh well) 14.0" is 355mm, so 10mm smaller than the Brembo.

Honestly, I really am confident that the front STR discs have never been smaller than 355mm and the Brembo are 365mm.

Well, you were correct they are not 300mm, more like the 365mm. Good news though the auto parts website I used worked! The said the discs I ordered had holes, but did not. They look exactly like the original discs!! The mfg Europarts (Eurospare), replacement for Jaguar overseas. I also used the Akebono ceramic pads and haven't heard a peep out the combo.

I'll provide part numbers if anyone needs them.

The website is:
http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/

Call them first, I gave them my VIN to make sure. The website, as they all do, has issues!!

But, again the Jag dealer quoted $904 for new front pads and only turning rotors. I paid approx $323 for new pads and rotors!!!!! And did the job myself.

Cool eh?
Another glowing review here. Slapped them on a couple of days ago to replace the SH1TTY "premium" semi-metallics I ordered from brakeperformance and the nightmare of noise has come to a complete end. No squeal whatsoever and strong brakes. Dust looks good so far too.

Sprayed a little CRC 'Brake Quiet' on the back, and they slipped right in. About an hour for all 4. DO IT!
