Default Need help locating source for rear spring seats

Does anyone have a source for the rear spring seats for a 2002 Jaguar S-type with the 4.0 V8? I am needing some for a project I am working on. Many thanks in advance.

These are indeed known as the 'spring seat' and they are available from Jaguar but sadly they only come with the spring at about £100 a side. They do not sell them as a seperate part.

See this link to the official jaguar on-line parts catalogue:

https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.../brand/jaguar/

This is probably why you are finding it hard to locate them as an individual part.

I am also searching for this unobtanium, trying to put together new front struts with Kilen springs. These are matching OEM spec replacement springs that did not come with some plastic part, because, why would they? Ridiculous.

**nevermind its upper not lower
I tried the same spring seat search but for the Ford Thunderbird, and this came up, but it is hard to tell if it would match. It should, they even title the part name *RARE*. Its either this or the junkyard and putting a worn out rubberized plastic piece in a brand new strut assembly.

Just to show that the lower seat comes with the spring here is a photo of the genuine jaguar part:

This is from this e-bay advert:

I believe the early S-type shared its rear suspension system with the Lincoln LS; here is the part for the Lincoln:

Good Idea. Provided you can get them and the postage is not too expensive it will be worth trying these. But they are not the same as the Jaguar items that are fixed to the spring.

The OP is in the States, as is CARiD, so I cannot imagine that shipping costs would be a deal breaker in this instance.

Yes indeed at that price they are worth a try ,even if they do not fit there is not much of a loss.

Clicking through the top item listed at the link (second one says Upper spring seat in the title), and then Product Options, it again says Upper seat. They certainly look like they could work just flipped upside down, but testing that risks having to repeat tear down of entire corner suspension if it doesn't. Anyway, their status is Out of Stock - Unavailable until further notice.

Times like these it would be nice if a forum sponsor like SNG Barratt stepped to dig up the OEM supplier and offer it separately, there is money to be made. I was also looking for just the o-ring that goes on the engine oil cap to seal the oil and vacuum leak. Nope, have to buy the whole cap. The guibo driveshaft coupler has to be cross referenced from other automakers, that DO sell it separately. JLR? Buy the whole new driveshaft. There is a list of examples but the biggest one, all the suspension bushings had to be replaced with the entire a-arm or upright for the longest time. Eventually some resellers found Lemforder as OEM supplier and they can all be pressed in now to the old hardware. So, it is possible.

AutoZone (US) appears to have the spring seats for considerably more money:

Did you solve this in the end ? I'm finding myself in the same predicament. I can't locate the part anywhere
